2018 Update: Full Availability Calendar

We’ve been sharing the big updates from our 2018 availability calendar all week and, because you’ve been so patient, we’re now happy to present you with the entire thing!

Founders beer availability calendar

Here’s a refresher on the changes we’ve shared along with a couple extras just because we love you:

  • Breakfast Stout and Backwoods Bastard will be available year-round. Yep, that’s right, you won’t have to wait for either of these going forward! Well, sort of. Breakfast Stout should be available without a break in availability into the New Year, while Backwoods Bastard will have a several month lapse in availability. Not bad!
  • We will be offering All Day IPA, Rubaeus and all of our seasonal beers, which include Mosaic Promise, Azacca IPA and PC Pils, in 6-pack cans.
  • DOUBLE TROUBLE RETURNS! You’ve asked and we are delivering. Our notorious imperial IPA makes its return in May 2018.
  • We are launching a brand new taproom carryout series called the “Mothership Series.” These beers will range from classics like the inaugural release, Red’s Rye IPA, to experimental new styles. They will only be available for carryout in 6-pack bottles at our taproom locations.
  • We’re saying goodbye to some favorites, like Imperial Stout, Curmudgeon and reDANKulous although we’d like to think of it as ‘until we meet again.’ Because, let’s be real, we bring back old favs all the time!
  • Green Zebra was such a hit we’re bringing it back around. This gose-style ale brewed with watermelon and sea salt was named one of VinePair’s 50 best beers of 2017!
  • The Barrel-Aged Series returns and, with it, four new releases we’ll share with you throughout the year. Stay tuned!

There are lots of new and exciting things on this calendar to look forward to! However, I am seriously disappointed to hear that Imperial Stout will not be bottled. I have been enjoying it for many years and there is a community that counts it among the very best beers to cellar. That is not possible as a draft only option. Many await its release to enjoy the new bottles alongside aged bottles from the past several years. Please tell me this is not a final decision, or that at least it will be a Mothership Series release.

What has happened to your Imperial Stout that usually comes out in January. I don’t see it on your calendar, but it is on your list of seasonal beers. Its a long time favorite. Please let me know if it will be available this year.

Disappointed that you’re discontinuing Curmudgeon, but happy to see Backwoods Bastard will be a year round brew. Love your beers. Thanks for the calendar and especially for your incredible products.

I would like to put in a plea to not let Imperial Stout become a beer that “may” return some day. Not only do I think it is the best stout that is available today, it is the only stout Founder’s makes that I truly like. The others are fine once a year or so, but it is the Imperial that makes a visit to the brewery complete. Please don’t take away my favorite beer!

Hey guys, what about “year-round #2” – isn’t it Backwoods Bastard that is already listed as Barrel-Aged one for the same av. period or it’s something else you haven’t opened yet? And what about BA Frootwood, Doom – are they gone as well :(( ?? My hope was Devil Dancer to be back, but it’s not. Would you consider? You don’t have any other Triple IPA on the line, do you? Hoptimum from Sierra Nevada is good and kinda works instead, but still doesn’t make it 100% to replace Devil Dancer, for myself at least.
