No clue what to get Santa this year? We got you. ‘Founders Boozy Nog’ is the perfect treat to leave on the mantle – the cookies won’t even be missed. Big thanks to our resident bartender, Nic, for yet another home run of a beer cocktail:
Founders Boozy Nog
Serve in tulip/rocks/snifter/mug – (you know, something festive)
Tools needed: shaker tin, Hawthorne strainer, mesh strainer, jigger**
*Build in shaker
Ingredients
- One egg
- 1oz. bourbon
- 1/2oz CBS simple *see recipe below*
- 1/2oz. dark rum
- 1/4oz. dry Curacao or Cointreau
- 4oz. egg nog (store bought is okay. Just make sure it has no alcohol in it)
- Cinnamon, nutmeg
- Toasted marshmallow, orange peel (optional)
Crack one whole egg into shaker. Add bourbon, simple syrup, dark rum, Curacao. Dry shake. Add egg nog. Add ice. Wet shake. Double strain into tulip/snifter (this is important, because some curdled bits may occur). Garnish with cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted marshmallow and orange peel. Enjoy!
CBS Simple Syrup
Tools needed: 1 cup measuring cup, small/medium-sized saucepan, whisk, stovetop
Ingredients
- 8oz. CBS
- 8oz. Cane Sugar
Directions
Over low heat add CBS and sugar into a saucepan. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Store into vessel of choice
