The Making of Dankwood (The Label)

Creating the label for Dankwood was just as much an exercise in experimentation as creating the beer itself.

When considering a medium, only the dankest would do. So, we went straight to the source and carved the label out the charred insides of a bourbon barrel. Check it out:

Dankwood is a bold imperial red IPA aged in oak bourbon barrel. This palate stunner comes in at a 12.2% ABV that’ll send your senses spinning. Rich caramel notes emerge from the depths of the IPA, highlighting strong malt character while the bourbon barrel-aging develops the complexity. The spicy, piney, tropical complexities of Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hops come in at a smooth 65 IBUs that hit you right away with their dank aroma. A dank, sticky and slightly sweet sipper, Dankwood is the perfect alchemy of wood and hops. More information available here.
