New Beer Release: KBS Espresso

We are thrilled – THRILLED, WE SAY – to share our first-ever KBS variant. Introducing…

Two bottles of Founders KBS

KBS Espresso

KBS gets its coffee fix in the very first variant to come from our beloved bourbon barrel-aged stout. Yes, KBS may already be brewed with coffee, but it gets some extra oomph when it’s aged on espresso beans after being removed from barrels. The result is a fresh and snappy coffee twist on our classic barrel-aged beer. Who says you can’t start your day with a barrel-aged stout? 12% ABV.

KBS Espresso will make its debut in the Grand Rapids taproom on November 15. It will be available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles, 750mL bottles and on draft across our distribution footprint later this month. Please note that KBS Espresso will not be available on draft in Utah or in any format in Mississippi.

Along with being the first-ever KBS variant, KBS Espresso will also kick off our 2020 Barrel-Aged Series, which will feature a lineup of seven different beers throughout the year, including KBS and the year-round Backwoods Bastard.

Stay tuned for more information on other releases in the 2020 Barrel-Aged Series along with news on our full 2020 availability calendar.

Cheers!

Hey guys, noted that your 2017 KBS in your taproom, marked as “contains lactose”. What does this mean? Never heard it contained lactose or any kind of that cow liquid, even in 2017. Is it that special kind of this beer or any of your KBS goes with this… mmm… thing (which I do not accept by the nature)?

Hi there, we used milk chocolate in that batch, which contains lactose. We’ve since moved to lactose-free chocolate in more recent releases. Hope this helps!

    Where can I buy some?????

    • Founders Brewing Co.

Check with your local bottle shops to see if they plan on carrying it! It’s shipping everywhere so you should be able to find some.
