A couple years in and Mike and Dave were brewing beers they thought people wanted – amber ales, pale ales, wheat beer – but things were not going well. The brewery was quickly losing money and they had to make some drastic changes or they would have to close the doors.

With their new head brewer, Nate Walser, and his assistant, Jeremy Kosmicki, ready to start experimenting, Mike and Dave instructed them to spare no expense in brewing the best beer possible – beer that they wanted to drink. Given this freedom, Nate and Jeremy created some of the most boundary-pushing beer at the time and launched the ‘Brewed for Us’ mentality that drives us still today.
