POSITION:  Cellar Operator

SHIFT:  Must be available days, nights, and week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Cellar

JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in the beer making process by performing the following duties:

  • Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and sanitary fermentation cellar.
  • Follow established SOP’s toward accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhaus through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer.
  • Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank.
  • Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery.
  • Monitor fermentation profiles, progress, and temperatures of vessels and glycol system.
  • Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer.
  • Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures.
  • Assist other departments when time allows.

 QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment, be a great communicator, and possess a mechanical aptitude.  Candidates should be serious about safety, quality and cleanliness.  Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/ crouching position at a steady pace and love to clean.  Experience in sanitary food or beverage processing is a definite plus.  Constant cleaning and frequent maintenance is required.  Availability to work days, nights, and weekends is necessary.

POSITION: Regional Sales Director – California

DEPARTMENT: Sales

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates within the sales department.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.

POSITION: VP of National Sales

DEPARTMENT: Sales

JOB SUMMARY:
Overall responsibility and accountability for sales department including successful execution of yearly sales goals and ongoing development and management of the sales organization.

Responsible for development of national sales organization.  This includes:

  • Design of the organization
  • Recruitment and hiring of human resources
  • Onboarding and training of sales staff and managers
  • Ongoing measurement, development and improvement of sales staff and manager
  • Yearly succession planning and gap assessments

Responsible for yearly goal setting and planning. This includes:

  • Working with executive team to identify yearly sales plans
  • Works with RD’s, Market Managers, and Wholesalers to develop yearly sales goals by month and package to meet executive team yearly sales plans.
  • Control and set up  wholesaler annual ABP volume goals, sales programming CE spend
  • Establishes and tracks individual RD goals to meet these objectives.
  • Develops 3-5 year rolling strategic plan with executive team

Responsible for delivery of yearly sales plan. This includes:

  • Establishes metrics and reporting to track weekly progress to goals
  • Identifies gaps and opportunities and puts corrective actions in place
  • Frequently works directly with RD’s and Wholesalers who are underperforming to get back on plan
  • Communicates any potential issues and corrective actions to executive team
  • Develops creative solutions to achieve and exceed goals

Responsible for development and successful execution of chain business. This includes:

  • Develop a 5 year and 1 year national chain strategy
  • Work with chain directors and wholesalers to track execution of chain strategy

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages department budget to ensure that costs of execution are adhered to, frequently pushing sales expenses into the marketing budget.
  • Work with marketing to design and develop marketing programs that directly align to sales and brand goals
  • At all times, represent, protect, and promote the Founders brand
  • Develop, execute, track, and improve training for the national sales organization
  • Work with VP of Wholesaler network to launch new markets and transition unsuccessful wholesalers/markets
  • Assist in strategy for product development and yearly product calendars
  • Provide feedback to the organization on trends in the field
  • Report weekly to executive team on status, progress, and issues
  • Compile monthly and quarterly sales department reporting and deliver to executive committee i.e.  regional and national sales SWOT’s, wholesaler Scorecard evaluations, volume vs. goal updates etc.
  • Frequent interaction with production to ensure successful fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Develops and executes strategy for event and sponsorship participation
  • Is a visible leader in the industry at events, conferences, festivals, etc.
  • Review and approve wholesaler invoices
  • Review and approve wholesaler order change requests
  • Coordinate movement of extra brand inventories out to sales by region
  • Set up and expedite Limited and Backstage brand allocations by wholesaler
  • Set up and expedite Specialty brand pre-orders
  • Provide detailed volume needs to production
  • Provide expected shipping and retail launch dates for Limited, Specialty and one off brands to production, marketing and sales departments
  • Recommend pricing of new brands and packages
  • Process pricing set up and adjustments through finance department
  • Communicate detailed information for all sales programming i.e. allocations, pricing, chain programming, launch dates, marketing tools, brand calendars, dates coding, UPC codes, volume expectations, volume restrictions, and shipping constraints to all departments
  • Provide direction and maintain wholesaler relations
  • Organize and deliver national sales meetings

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Accountable to achieve yearly national sales plan targets while simultaneously managing within budget and target wholesaler inventory levels. Other goals and metrics will be set and evaluated yearly.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises employees in the Sales Department (with direct reports as defined above). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University and a minimum of 10 years of strategic sales experience. or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Works directly with the assigned Founders Brewing Company territory wholesaler and their sales staff to promote sales, promote the Founders brand and achieve target distribution and volume goals.
  • Maintains consistent market visitation schedule between all assigned territories; work quarterly target account list and visitation schedule including chain and independent on and off premise accounts.
  • Develops quarterly target lists built from goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to analyze and develop sales opportunity from VIP software or other company provided sales/CRM software.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with retail accounts.
  • Monitors beer inventory to maintain proper amounts based on sales trends, promotions, and seasonal changes; monitor product for freshness.
  • Conducts ongoing brand training.
  • Attains pre-determined sales and distribution goals.
  • Assists at all special events and festivals in the territory.
  • Performs administrative tasks as they are assigned (expense reports, monthly work calendar,  establish distribution targets, evaluate discount programs, conduct price surveys).
  • Assists in creating volume projections and marketing budgets; ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Maintains professional image and demeanor at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Successful candidate must live in the market for which Sales Representative is responsible for, must have reliable car and be able to travel and have the ability to work a flexible schedule and ability work some week-ends.  Two years minimum experience working in the three tier distribution system either with a beer wholesaler or beer supplier is a must and must have strong knowledge of craft beer industry and its retail consumers.  Candidate must be knowledgeable of Founders Brewing Company brands and procedures, be draft beer knowledgeable, and have experience with sales data writing, reporting, and analysis as well as experience with sales/CRM software.

Responsible for assisting Brewers in the beer making process by performing the duties.

  •  General brewery cleaning;
  •  General labor work.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic team environment and be a great communicator. Must be reliable, detail orientated and be able to follow directions. Must be safety focused and love to clean. Must be able to lift up to 55lbs. Will be exposed to wet and humid conditions and at times, extreme heat. Will work around moving mechanical parts and vibration and will be exposed to high precarious places.
