POSITION: Quality Manager

DEPARTMENT: Brewery Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans, coordinates, directs, and manages systems and programs designed to ensure the production of world class beer products that always exceed the established industry standards for quality.

· Formulates and maintains Quality Objectives consistent with corporate policies and goals by developing and implementing a Quality System to include programs and processes that build Quality Assurance into every step of the production process to ensure world class Quality. The Quality System defines the:

  • Creation, implementation, and oversight of inspection activity throughout the Value Stream, from vendors through production and final distribution, which meet our Quality Objectives,
  • Development and analysis of Key Performance Measures of statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed Quality and reliability expectancy of all materials, processes and finished product that exceed the highest industry standards for World Class Beer Quality,
  • Interpretation and communication of Quality Objectives and systems to the rest of the organization,
  • Coordination of Quality Objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other department managers to maximize Quality while controlling costs,
  • Regular reporting of performance to the Quality Objectives for all the above.

· Directs, schedules, and manages workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, process and products;
· Creates and directs environmental test functions;
· Develops and Directs Quality Management teams within organization;
· Designs and implements Quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers;
· Investigates customer complaints regarding Quality;
· Collects, stores and maintains all pertinent food safety and product compliance records for all government agencies;
· Directly supervises employees in the Quality Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws;
· Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems;
· Professionally represents Founders at industry related events.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Must fit in with our hard working, passionate, and enthusiastic team environment,
· Be a proven leader with excellent communication, organization, and detailed oriented skills,
· Possess a BA degree along with a minimum of 5 years quality related experience,
· 3 years Management experience including budgetary responsibilities, supervision of direct reports, management of continuous improvement efforts and project management,
· Some travel required,
· Scheduling flexibility is a must as we are a 24-7 brewery operation.

POSITION:  Brewer

SHIFT:  Must be available days, nights, and week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Brewing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for beer making process by performing the following duties:

  • Operates, cleans, and sterilizes all brewing equipment;
  • Follows standard operating procedures specifically in the creation of wort to be delivered to the cellar;
  • Inputs data as specified for all brewing procedures;
  • Checks the quality of raw materials, wort throughout the process, and finished product daily; interacts with quality department;
  • Checks and adjusts as necessary all brewing equipment;
  • Coordinates with the maintenance department regarding any required servicing of equipment;
  • Keeps all raw materials stocked and organized;
  • Maintains an exceptionally clean and sterile work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment, be a great communicator, possess a mechanical aptitude, and must have experience in production brewing and or experience in sanitary food or beverage processing.  Candidates should be serious about safety, quality and cleanliness.  Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/ crouching position at a steady pace and love to clean.  Availability to work days, nights, and weekends is necessary.

POSITION:  Warehouse Driver (Internal deliveries between brewery and offsite storage facility)

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, and week-ends                              

DEPARTMENT:  Warehouse

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties:

  • Drives truck to destination;
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition;
  • Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations;
  • Assists in loading and unloading truck;
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area;
  • Operates a Hi-Lo;
  • Complies with all safe operating instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment, be a great communicator, and must be detailed oriented.  Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/crouching position at a steady pace.  Candidates must obtain or have a Commercial Drivers license for straight trucks up to 28’ length as well as a Hi-Lo license.  (Hi-Lo license can be obtained via training at Founders).  Candidates must have a good driving history and license record.  Experience working in shipping and receiving is a plus.

POSITION:  Packaging Machine Operator

SHIFT:   Must be available 7 days per week – 1st/2nd/3rd shifts

DEPARTMENT:  Packaging

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tends machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties:

  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine;
  • Stops machine and reports malfunctions to Head or Lead Packing Machine Operator;
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product or containers;
  • Inspects filled containers to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications;
  • Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices;
  • Unloads packaged products;
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels;
  • Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic team environment, be a great communicator, and possess a mechanical aptitude.  Candidates must be safety focused, love to clean, be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking position at a steady pace.  The packaging team members rotate through all of our packaging department functions including all areas of our bottling and keg filling lines.  Constant cleaning and frequent machine maintenance is required.  Availability to work days, nights, and weekends is necessary.

POSITION:  Cellar Operator

DEPARTMENT:  Cellar Department

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the beer making process by performing the following duties:

  • Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and sanitary fermentation cellar;
  • Follow established SOP’s toward accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhaus through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer;
  • Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank;
  • Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery;
  • Monitor fermentation profiles, progress and temperatures of vessels and glycol system;
  • Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer;
  • Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures;
  • Assist other departments when time allows.

POSITION:  Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (full time)

DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance Department

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing the following duties:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and production machines;
  • Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications;
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions;
  • Ability to work rotating, off, or weekend shifts, as scheduled to cover production needs and demands; schedule will be dictated by work load and company needs;
  • Scheduled times will be posted weekly; good attendance and timeliness is required for the company to stay productive;
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listens for problems; uses precision measuring, and tests instruments;
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling with hand and power tools;
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts by using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments;
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels and straightedges;
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitors compliance;
  • Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies and verifies receipt of parts;
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results;
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests;
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews technical publications; establishes personal networks;
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs;
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment and be a great communicator.  Must have hand tools, sockets and wrenches both metric and SAE Skills/Qualifications: equipment maintenance, technical understanding, electrical knowledge, technical zeal, must be able to deal with uncertainty, understand basic safety rules, know how to use power tools, have the ability to show attention to detail, must be flexible, possess troubleshooting skills, and must be  productive. POSITION: Part Time Deli Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Deli / Taproom

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the deli sandwich making process by performing the following duties:

  • Prep work;
  • Sandwich maker;
  • Customer service;
  • Maintains safe work environment according to federal and state regulations;
  • Maintains working knowledge of deli recipes and prepared foods;
  • Miscellaneous cleaning and stocking;
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., stand, bend, reach, and scoop frequently;
  • Takes initiative to identify, report, and resolve problems before they escalate.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED

Successful candidate must have an awesome attitude and demonstrate the ability to multi task, must be detail oriented, must be a great communicator, must be able to work independently, and must fit in with our hard working and fun team environment. Candidates should have prior kitchen experience and have a flexible schedule to work days, nights, and week-ends.

POSITION: Part Time Dishwasher

DEPARTMENT: Deli / Taproom

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or in dishwashing machine;
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays;
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors;
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks;
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers;
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas;
  • Performs miscellaneous kitchen duties as necessary.
