Year-Round KBS Release Party – Grand Rapids Taproom

Celebrate the Launch of our highly acclaimed KBS as a new Year-Round Offering with us on Saturday, February 29, 2020!

This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. As you may know, KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

We will, of course, have the new KBS on tap, as well as KBS 2019, 2018, & 2017, Parisian KBS, KBS Espresso, Blushing Monk, Mas Agave 2019, 2018 Curmudgeon’s Better Half, CBS, French Toast Bastard, and more! Additionally, we will have 2018, 2019, and the brand new KBS bottles available in our Company Store.

Live Music During the Event

Lyrics Born

Lyrics Born relocated to the United States from his birthplace of Toyko, Japan right around the time Hip Hop was exploding on the East Coast. From the moment he heard Sugar Hill Gang’s 1980 classic “Rapper’s Delight,” the Bay Area Hip Hop luminary knew he’d found his calling.

Twenty-five years later, LB has obliterated the stereotypes of what an MC is “supposed to” look like and captured the hearts of countless fans who gravitate to his distinctive voice. He’s now the only Asian-American MC to release 10 studios albums and the first to play major music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza.

lespecial

lespecial carve their own sonic path in modern music, creating their signature blend of “heavy future groove”. The power trio’s fresh synthesis of varied and divergent influences doesn’t underestimate the listener, reflecting a post-modern cultural climate in which fans have space on their aural palette for J Dilla, Radiohead, King Crimson and Fela Kuti. Veering from hip-hop to metal, prog to house, pensive indie-rock to apocalyptic dub, leaving room for head banging and hip swaying alike, while still presenting a unified sound and vision.

Trifocal

The trio fuses elements of multiple genres to create a musical experience filled with twists and turns. Throughout the many changes of feel and energy, their music maintains a sense of groove that is impossible to ignore.

Trifocal began in March 2016 with the union of co-founders Dean Lind (bass/vocals), Eric Carlstrom (guitar/vocals), and Adam Hastings (drums/vocals). They’ve been building steam in the Midwest region by spreading their music, personality, and message everywhere they go. Touring has brought them through Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kentucky, Ohio and all over their home state of Michigan.

This event is free and welcome to all ages before 9pm. 21+ only age limit and a $10 Cover Charge will be in place after 9pm.
