This event has sold out.
Breakfast Stout Breakfast is our most exclusive party of the year, and the 11th edition, taking place on Saturday, November 18 and 19, 2017 from 9am-12pm, promises to be the best yet. Each year since 2006, (with the exception of 2007, when the Taproom was in the process of moving from its Monroe Avenue location to our current home on Grandville Avenue) 300 beer lovers and Founders fans from around the globe have descended on the Taproom, for a private, ticketed event celebrating one of our finest products, Breakfast Stout.
Extremely limited tickets will be available for $30, online only, via Ticketfly, beginning on September 30, 2017 at 10am EST, with a limit of 4 per person. Admission includes: access to this exclusive event, a complimentary, all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet curated and designed by the Founders Culinary Team, live music (including a roving and a stage set) from The Theatre Bizarre Orchestra, a commemorative Breakfast Stout Breakfast mug (designed by our very own Kevin Marquardt), and your first pint of Breakfast Stout.
Please note, tickets are date specific and are only valid for the date purchased. i.e. 11/18/17 tickets can only be used 11/18/17. 11/19/17 tickets can only be used 11/19/17. Please make sure you are purchasing the date you desire.
This is an ages 21 and up event only, and the taproom will be closed to the public during the breakfast. Keep in mind, this is a festive breakfast, and your finest pajamas are encouraged!
About the The Theatre Bizarre Orchestra:
The genesis for the Theatre Bizarre Orchestra ignited when
David J. (frontman of Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) joined award-winning jazz ensemble, Planet D Nonet for an impromptu performance of the Bauhaus classic,
“Bela Lugosi’s Dead” at the 2014 Theatre Bizarre Gala.
Their collaboration resulted in both a spontaneously unique rendition of the song — Bela Lugosi meets Cab Calloway’s “Minnie the Moocher” for a delirious sojourn into Chinatown to ‘kick the gong around’ — as well as the amalgamated birth of the TBO.
Recording at Detroit’s celebrated Tempermill Studio with seasoned engineer, David Feeny (The White Stripes/Jack White/Loretta Lynn), David J. and the talented arranger/band leader/saxophonist/clarinetist, Joshua James have brought their first album,
Carpe Noctem to life!
Through their music, David J. and the Theatre Bizarre Orchestra have managed to capture the off-kilter essence of Bacchanalian abandon; the musical distillation of twisted circus and dark carnival associated with the Theatre Bizarre.
