Taproom Featured ArtPrize Artists

ArtPrize, the world’s largest art competition, is well underway in our hometown of Grand Rapids, MI, and as proud partners of the event, we could not be more excited. Our taproom has served as a venue to host artists since the very first ArtPrize took place (seven years ago!) and we are happy to undertake that role once again. Make sure to check out the six artists and their work we’re hosting this year if you stop by the taproom in the next two weeks. Here’s a little info on each one:

First up, artists Dave Sakalauskas and Steven Cannaert’s interactive musical piece, “Roots Rust Revival.” Don’t let the photo fool ya, these instruments are huge and playable! Find them on the sidewalk in front of the brewery.

Next up, we have artist Brooke Compson, an art teacher hailing from central Michigan, and her charcoal drawing, “Keeper of the Forest.”

We are also proud to once again feature the talented photographer Katy Batdorff and the sequel to her ArtPrize entry last year, “Red #2.

We also have the stunning abstract work of Matthew Bustamonte,“Truth Exchange Power Currency.”

Traveling the furthest of any of our featured artists, Sean Hennessey hails from Baltimore, MD. His mixed-media sculpture, “A Brief Moment of Equilibrium” is quite the sight to behold.

Last, but not least, is Eric Reou’s “Bizarro Pop Series.” You may have to look twice at these…
