Founders Beer Distributed in Texas

Our Beers Will Be Available in the Lone Star State in April 2013

We’ve partnered with Ben E. Keith Beverage Distributors to offer our beers across the Lone Star State beginning April 2013. Texans will now have the opportunity to enjoy Founders ales without having to leave the state.

“Texas is an up-and-coming market, and we’re impressed with what we’re seeing there,” said Co-Founder & CEO Mike Stevens. “We’ve been getting more and more inquiries from Founders fans in Texas over the past couple of years. The Ben E. Keith team is dedicated to the craft beer market and is helping introduce complex brands like ours to eager consumers who are hungry for them. Besides, we’ve always wanted to get Founders beer to Willie Nelson’s home state. Now the time is right.”

“We are delighted to partner with Founders,” said Specialty Division Manager at Ben E. Keith Kevin Nettleton, “and are eager to distribute their esteemed beers in Texas.”

We plan to include all of our year-round and seasonal ales as draft product in the first shipment for an April 8 release. Bottled beers will be released in May, and specialty releases will be available following the release schedule from there.

This is great news, thank you for working together to make this happen!! Does this mean that other Founder’s brews such as Breakfast, Imperial, and other stouts, as well as your limited releases, will also be available in the near future?

    • Sarah

Yes, that’s correct, Josh. Breakfast Stout will make it to Texas when it’s re-released in October, and we’ll get our specialty and limited releases there likely beginning this spring/summer. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thank you! Missed your beers so much since I moved away after living in GR for a short time.

    • Sarah

We’ll be bringing a piece of GR to you soon. Cheers!

It’s like you guys knew it was my birthday or something.

    • Sarah

      Happy birthday!

Very excited – as somebody who lived in Michigan for 15 years, I took it for granted that Founders beers were never further than Kroger, Meijer or Hollywood Market – and man do I miss me some Founders (and Bells, of course), but Red’s Rye remains my favorite regular release beer on the market (and Centennial is right there with it)!

    Can’t wait!

  5. Sigh…once again, the neighbors to the east are left out. So now Founders will be available in Florida, Alabama and Texas, but not Louisiana (or Mississippi). Yay for craft beer!

I personally never tried Founders beer until a friend of mine got his hands on some CBH earlier this year. I fell in LOVE. Never truly loved a beer until I tried that… Then he told me it was a one-time brew, which made me very sad. I really hope you’ll turn it into an Annual brew at some point in the future, especially now that your products are coming to Texas (I’m in Houston). Anyways, welcome to the area, but seriously, bring back CBH please, I beg of you!

    • Sarah

Thanks for welcome us to Texas, Thomas! No word on if we’ll make Curmudgeon’s Better Half again, but have you tried the base beer for it, Curmudgeon Old Ale? It’s essentially the same beer but not aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels. But your request has been noted…cheers!

I keep hearing rumors northern california is coming soon through Young’s market – i would really love to stop trading my Russian Rivers away and just be able to buy some GR goodness here in CA.

Thanks so much for coming to TX! This made my day! I score some Founders from a friend few months ago (Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard) and was blown away! Can’t wait to share Founders with friends and family! You guys won’t regret this, the craft beer scene is exploding! Cheers and good luck on a smooth release!

    • Sarah

Thanks, Josh, we’re looking forward to the launch!

    Yes Please…. come to Dallas!

    • Sarah

      Planning on it!

Will all of the year round beers make it here in May, Including Porter?

    • Sarah

That’s the plan as of now. Be sure to request it at your local retailers so they know to stock it!

Can’t wait for Founders to get here to show TX about great midwest breweries! I used to work in downtown GR and was down on Grandville Ave at least twice a week. Moved to Dallas in 2011 and can’t beleive how weak the craft beer scene is down here. There are a lot of breweries but they don’t make anything that stands out. Founders is by far my favorite but I could name 10 MI brewries yhat would rule the beer scene in this state. All you can find you here areto Taxas beers and btewersI from eitheryou the east otMall west coast. Texas beer drinkers are in for a real treat. Can’t wait for Centennial, Red’s Rye, Breakfast Stout and my favorite Double Trouble to be available here in Dallas. Thanks for making this happen. Founders rocks!

    • Sarah

Thanks for the kind comment, Kelly. We’re glad to bring a piece of your memories of Grand Rapids to you in Dallas. Please keep in touch with us throughout our launch! We’d love to hear from you here, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Cheers!

So pumped for April 8th! Being able to get FBS at my local shop much less being able to tap it in my pub is huge! I can’t wait to tap the entire line-up. My BEK order is going to be HUGE that week! Love what you do, and am incredibly thankful that you were willing and able to jump through the crazy Texas loops to get here. Any chance at all we’ll see any KBS at launch, or will it be next year? Cheers, and thank you!

    • Sarah

Love to hear that, Channing. Thanks for the support! Breakfast Stout’s season is over, but we’ll be bringing it back again in October. And we’re starting with year-rounds and seasonals for the launch, so KBS won’t be allocated to TX until 2014. Please feel free to reach out to us if you’re interested in doing any events during/after the launch, and we’ll see what we can set up. Thanks for reaching out–cheers!

This is great news! I’m originally from Michigan but now live in Austin, TX. My parents are coming down in a week. They are at a store in MI as I write this picking me up nine 6-packs of your All Day IPA. I love that beer!

    • Sarah

You’ll be able to buy All Day IPA in Austin very soon! Bottles coming in May. Hopefully those nine 6-packs can hold you over until then. Cheers!
