Good food and good beer just go together. The growing movement in our hometown of Grand Rapids has been one of locality, with farmers, chefs, coffee roasters and brewers encompassing the individuals powering change in our community. Lisa Rose Starner captures the essence of these local flavors in Grand Rapids Food: A Culinary Revolution. She tells the tale of Urban Gardens, Farms to Tables, 21st Century Farm Markets as well as an entire chapter dedicated to Liquid Culture (page 55), in which our own Dave Engbers tells the Founders story. This larger movement is part of what helped earn Grand Rapids the title of Beer City USA 2013.
