All Day to Spare (Ribs)

Here’s a super easy way to cook some fall-off-the-bone spare ribs without any crazy cooking equipment..and with the addition of some delicious All Day IPA. Some people say it’s blasphemy to cook ribs in the oven. Y’know what we say? No one has to know!

All Day to Spare (Ribs)

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of spare ribs (remove any excess fat, silver-skin membrane, etc.)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1.5 cups ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup ground coriander
  • 1/4 cup ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F.
  • Combine all of your spices in a mixing bowl and rub the mixture all over the racks of ribs.
  • Lay the ribs out, meat side down, on some heavy duty aluminum foil (shiny side out).
  • Crimp the edges of the foil around each rack to create a fully-sealed foil pocket around each rack. Before you seal them entirely, split one can or bottle of All Day IPA between each.
  • Place the racks meat side down in a roasting pan that can fit them both. You’ll want something with taller sides in case the foil breaks.
  • Place the pan in the pre-heated over for about 3.5 hours or until the meat falls right off the bones. Word of caution: when you open the foil the steam will be pouring outta there. Be careful!
  • At this point, you can sauce them with whatever your favorite BBQ sauce is, or leave them as-is. For that extra caramelization, either set under a broiler for a little bit, or mark them on the grill.Born and Brewed
