Open Positions

POSITION:  Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (full time) 

DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance Department

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, including week-ends

JOB SUMMARY
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing the following duties: 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machines;
  • Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications;
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions;
  • Ability to work rotating, off, or weekend shifts, as scheduled to cover production needs and demands; schedule will be dictated by work load and company needs;
  • Scheduled times will be posted weekly; good attendance and timeliness is required for the company to stay productive;
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listens for problems; uses precision measuring, and tests instruments;
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling with hand and power tools;
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts by using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments;
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges;
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitors compliance;
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies, and verifies receipt of parts;
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results;
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests;
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews technical publications; establishes personal networks;
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs;
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment and be a great communicator.  Must have hand tools, sockets and wrenches both metric and SAE Skills/Qualifications: equipment maintenance, technical understanding, electrical knowledge, technical zeal, must be able to deal with uncertainty, understand basic safety rules, know how to use power tools, have the ability to show attention to detail, must be flexible, possess troubleshooting skills, and must be  productive. Availability to work days, nights, and weekends is necessary.

POSITION:  Cellar Operator

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, including week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Cellar Department

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the beer making process by performing the following duties:

  • Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and sanitary fermentation cellar;
  • Follow established SOP’s toward accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhaus through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer;
  • Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank;
  • Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery;
  • Monitor fermentation profiles, progress, and temperatures of vessels and glycol system;
  • Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer;
  • Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures;
  • Assist other departments when time allows.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED

Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic and hardworking team environment, be a great communicator, and possess a mechanical aptitude.  Candidates should be serious about safety, quality and cleanliness.  Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/ crouching position at a steady pace and love to clean.  Experience in sanitary food or beverage processing is a definite plus.  Constant cleaning and frequent maintenance is required.  Availability to work days, nights, and weekends is necessary.

POSITION:  Chicago Sales Representative                          

DEPARTMENT:  Sales

JOB SUMMARY:
Establish and maintain a professional sales relationship with key retailers within the assigned territory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports Founders Brewing Company Core Values and Purpose;
  • Maintains constant communication with the Market Manager and Regional Sales Director;
  • Works directly with the assigned Founders Brewing Company territory wholesaler and their sales staff to promote the sale of the brand;
  • Maintains consistent market visitation schedule between all assigned territories; work quarterly target account list and visitation schedule including chain and independent on and off premise accounts;
  • Develops quarterly target lists built from goals and objectives;
  • Must be able to analyze and develop sales opportunity from VIP software or other company provided sales/CRM software;
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with retail accounts;
  • Monitors beer inventory to maintain proper amounts based on sales trends, promotions, and seasonal changes; monitor product for freshness;
  • Conducts ongoing brand training;
  • Attains pre-determined sales and distribution goals;
  • Assists at all special events and festivals in the territory;
  • Performs administrative tasks as they are assigned (expense reports, monthly work calendar,  establish distribution targets, evaluate discount programs, conduct price surveys);
  • Assists in creating volume projections and marketing budgets; ensure compliance is maintained;
  • Maintains professional image and demeanor at all times;

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Successful candidate must live in the market for which Market Manager is responsible for, must have reliable car and be able to travel and have the ability to work a flexible schedule and ability work some week-ends. Two years minimum experience working in the three tier distribution system either with a beer wholesaler or beer supplier is a must and must have strong knowledge of craft beer industry and its retail consumers. Candidate must be knowledgeable of Founders Brewing Company brands and procedures, be draft beer knowledgeable, and have experience with sales data writing, reporting, and analysis as well as experience with sales/CRM software.

POSITION:  Dishwasher

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, including week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Deli

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or in dishwashing machine;
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays;
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors;
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks;
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers;
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas;
  • Performs miscellaneous kitchen duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

POSITION:  Deli Clerk

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, including week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Deli

JOB SUMMARY:
Prepares and cooks deli foods by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prep work;
  • Reads food order slip or receives verbal instructions as to food required by patron;
  • Prepares sandwiches;
  • Cooks deli food according to instructions;
  • Prepares salads and slices meats and cheese;
  • Cleans work area and food preparation equipment;
  • Serves meals to patrons over counter;
  • Customer Service;
  • Maintains safe work environment according to federal and state regulations;
  • Maintains working knowledge of deli recipes and prepared foods;
  • Miscellaneous cleaning and stocking.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and taste or smell. POSITION:  Company Store Clerk – Part Time

SHIFT:  Must be available all shifts, including week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Company Store

JOB SUMMARY:
Obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in the retail store by performing the following duties:

  • Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise;
  • Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales;
  • Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise;
  • Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer; ships orders to customers;
  • Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise;
  • Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill;
  • Accepts payment and makes change;
  • Wraps or bags merchandise for customers;
  • Cleans stock room, shelves, counters, or tables;
  • Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift;
  • Calculates sales discount to determine price;
  • Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders merchandise.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Candidates should have some experience in the retail industry, including customer service, cash register operation, cash handling, organizational skills, ability to address phone calls and emails, and provide friendly customer service.  There are some minor physical requirements:  must be able to lift a case of beer, climb a small step ladder, and reach above the head.  Schedule and hours may very each week and will require night and week-end work; flexibility is a must.

POSITION:  Centennial Room Utility/Elevator Person

SHIFT:  Part Time to Full Time (varies based on room reservations)

DEPARTMENT:  Taproom – Centennial Room

JOB SUMMARY:
This individual will assist with overall Centennial Room setup, access, and breakdown. Setup will include readying the room for the event, setting up the bar for service, and assisting the server/bartender in any means necessary. Following setup, this individual will provide friendly and prompt access to the Centennial Room for guests associated with that day’s event. In addition, the individual may be expected to fulfill bar back duties for the duration of the event, upon being relieved of door assignment. This includes any closing duties deemed necessary by the Centennial Room Manager.

Set-up duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Table arrangement, general floor plan adjustments. Cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors. Ensuring elevator is clean and vacuumed. Assisting in bar setup/restocking.

Elevator duties include:

  • Greeting event guests and providing friendly and prompt fob access via elevator to the Centennial Room. Responsible distribution of beer tickets to guests upon entry. Referring to guest lists for ticketed events. Working until the party is complete.

Bar back duties include:

  • Glassware and general cleaning assistance. Closing duties, breaking down bar, sweeping, and generally assisting server/bartender in room closure. Maintains safe work environment according to federal and state regulations. Maintains working knowledge of our current draft list.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good candidates must fit in with our friendly and hardworking team environment. There are some minor physical requirements:  must be able to carry a tray full of drinks/food, multi-task on feet for an entire shift, and reach above the head.  Schedule and hours may very each week and will require night and week-end work; flexibility is a must.
