Open Positions

POSITION:  Distribution Support Intern                                  

DEPARTMENT:  Planning, Procurement, and Logistics

JOB SUMMARY:
Works under direction of the Distribution Support Manager on tasks related to handling all aspects of fulfilling customer orders from the point of receipt of order fulfillment, inventory targets and forecasted volumes, and order changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processes inbound customer orders and prepares order confirmations based on demand dates and product availability.
  • Processes order change requests preparing our response to changes including our product availability, truck load availability, timing and Sales team review and approval of requested changes.
  • Works directly with and communicates directly with customers (Distributors) regarding all aspects of placed orders and their fulfillment.
  • Works and communicates regularly with Sales, Marketing, and Production teams.
  • Works closely with Distribution Support Manager and Production Planner to ensure adequate inventory is maintained relative to forecasted and customer order demand.
  • Works closely with Distribution Support Manager and Warehouse Manager to ensure that customer orders are correctly filled and shipped on time.  Coordinates the combining of product and POS onto outbound loads.
  • Acts as a point of contact for wholesalers regarding any customer service issues.
  • Monitors and reports on metrics for forecasts, order activity, and change activity.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence; makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials. Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
  • Helps to coordinate and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities.
  • Helps to maintain the electronic database of customer information and updates information.

 QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to multi task.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be a great communicator.
  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Customer service skills and experience is a must.
  • SAP experience is a plus.

POSITION:  Controls Engineer

DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance

JOB SUMMARY:
Optimize electrical management for production facility and maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing the following duties:

  • Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, high speed production equipment and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Maintains electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels.
  • Performs installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
  • Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
  • Demonstrates safe and proficient use of both hand and power shop tools.
  • Demonstrates mechanical knowledge.
  • Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE.
  • Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Uses testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Perform duties in a fast paced work environment.
  • Assists in management of outside electrical contractors and electrical spare parts inventory.
  • Assists department head as necessary.
  • Works with other departments to install, integrate, troubleshoot, repair and optimize their equipment and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Experience with: 3-phase 240V & 480V, 120V and control wiring.
  • Industrial troubleshooting experience to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, PLC’s and building wiring, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
  • Competent with programming of VFD’s.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to safely utilize a forklift and high lift.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, program, integrate and optimize existing systems and PLC’s.
  • Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
  • Must be available to work all shifts, weekends, on call and overtime.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience; OR, Completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years electrical experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

POSITION: Packaging Machine Operator

DEPARTMENT: Packaging

SHIFT:  Must be available for 1st & 3rd Shifts and week-end work

JOB SUMMARY:
Tends machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, typing, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties:

  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine;
  • Stops machine and reports malfunctions to Head or Lead Packing Machine Operator;
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product or containers;
  • Inspects filled containers to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications;
  • Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices;
  • Unloads packaged products;
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
  • Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.

QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good candidates must fit in with our enthusiastic team environment;
  • Be a great communicator;
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude;
  • Candidates must be safety focused;
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking position at a steady pace;
  • The packaging team members rotate through all of our packaging department functions including all areas of our bottling, canning, and keg filling lines;
  • Constant cleaning and frequent machine maintenance is required;
  • Machine operation experience is a plus.

POSITION:  Cellar Operator

SHIFT:  Must be available days, nights, and week-ends

DEPARTMENT:  Cellar

JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in the beer making process by performing the following duties:

  • Perform duties necessary to maintain a clean and sanitary fermentation cellar.
  • Follow established SOP’s toward accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhaus through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer.
  • Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank.
  • Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery.
  • Monitor fermentation profiles, progress, and temperatures of vessels and glycol system.
  • Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer.
  • Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures.
  • Assist other departments when time allows.

 QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:

POSITION: Regional Sales Director – California

DEPARTMENT: Sales

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates within the sales department.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing quotas, and goals.
  • Advises distributors concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Sometime requires heavy travel is required as needed up to 75% at times.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist distributors in promoting sales.
  • Professionally represents Founders at industry related events.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients or distributors in coordination with Market Managers.
  • Meets with key distributors, national and regional chain accounts assisting Market Managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion; Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidate must live in the market for which the Regional Director is responsible for, must have reliable car and be able to travel and have the ability to work a flexible schedule and ability work some week-ends. Bachelor’s degree (B. POSITION: Regional Market Manager – Multiple Positions, N. California & S. California

DEPARTMENT: Sales

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Maintains constant communication with the Regional Sales Director
  • Works directly with the assigned Founders Brewing Company territory wholesaler and their sales staff to promote sales, promote the Founders brand and achieve target distribution and volume goals.
  • Maintains consistent market visitation schedule between all assigned territories; work quarterly target account list and visitation schedule including chain and independent of and off premise accounts.
  • Develops quarterly target lists built from goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to analyze and develop sales opportunity from VIP software or other company provided sales/CRM software.
  • Manages wholesaler direction; develop and maintain positive relationships with retail accounts.
  • Monitors beer inventory to maintain proper amounts based on sales trends, promotions, and seasonal changes; monitor product for freshness.
  • Holds monthly sales and marketing meetings at assigned distributors.
  • Conducts ongoing brand training.
  • Develops ride schedule with assigned wholesaler reps.
  • Attains pre-determined sales and distribution goals.
  • Assists at all special events and festivals in the territory.
  • Ensures proper and timely ordering of POS with wholesalers.
  • Ensures timely completion and accuracy of all reports submitted by wholesalers.
  • Performs administrative tasks as they are assigned (expense reports, monthly work calendar, build wholesaler sales programs, establish distribution targets, evaluate discount programs, conduct price surveys).
  • Assists in creating volume projections and marketing budgets; ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Maintains professional image and demeanor at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years minimum experience working in the three tier distribution system either with a beer wholesaler or beer supplier and a strong knowledge of the craft beer industry and its retail consumers. Candidate must live in the market for which Market Manager is responsible for, have a reliable car and be able to travel. Ability to work flexible schedule; ability to work some week-ends.
