It’s back. Founders Fest 2009 will be held from 3-11pm on Saturday, June 20th, when the street (Grandville Avenue between Williams and Barlett) will once again be blocked and the grounds of the brewery secured for a day of beer, local food and music.

A celebratory “thank you” to Grand Rapids and West Michigan for making Founders what it is today, Founders Fest celebrates the fact that Founders Brewing Company has been a part of the Grand Rapids scene since 1997 and has grown its brewing tradition from its modest beginnings to be rated 7th best brewery in the world.

This year Founders Fest will feature eight local and regional bands, of varying genres. Music will start on center stage at 3:00 pm, featuring Grand Rapids' own Oracle, Chance Jones, UV Hippo, Total Blam Blams, Back Forty and Muskegon's Four Finger Five and the headliner, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, will conclude the night.

Local Food Vendors will provide an eclectic range of cuisine, including: Cottage Bar (burgers, veggie burgers, fries), Pita House (gyros, falafel, etc.), and two additional contributors providing BBQ and Mexican foods.

There will be a Local Artist Row featuring the work of select local artists, and plenty of Founders beer on draft, including: Pale Ale, Centennial IPA, Founders Fest Wheat, Solid Gold, Dirty Bastard, Cerise, Reds Rye PA, Porter

Admission for Founders Fest is $$15 for General Public, $10 for '09 Mug Club Members. Ages 21 + only.
