Beer vs. Wine Dinner at Laura Alberts

Wine snobs. Beer geeks. Terms that can be endearing, or insulting, depending on your point of view.

For this evening at Laura Alberts in Charleston, SC, we put all that aside and come together to figure out who’s right.

You’ll enjoy five courses, each artfully paired with a delicious beer from yours truly and a stellar winery TBA. Vote on your favorite pairing after each course, and we’ll once and for all determine if wine or beer pairs better with food! [You all already know the answer to that, right? Now bring somebody else to convince!]

  • Reception: All Day IPA
  • I: Seared Diver Scallops, Milk Poached Salsify, Haricot Verts, Popcorn Puree with Centennial IPA
  • II: Coriander-Seared Duck Breast, Bibb Lettuce, Goat Cheese, Dried Cherry, Grape Tomatoes, Toasted Peppitos, Drizzled with Thyme Red Wine Vinaigrette with Curmudgeon Old Ale
  • III: Smoked Bourbon-Braised Pork Belly, Maitake Mushroom Farro Risotto, Citrus Butter, Glazed Heirloom Carrots with Doom
  • IV: Chocolate Flourless Torte, Espresso Beer Foam, Fresh Berries with Breakfast Stout
